From what I've read so far it sounds like Book 9 with extra levels. Lame...for now.

And what the hell is with 5 level cap increases being the rage these days.

Arseholes....Mirkwood wasn't even in the Lord of The Rings, the closest the fellowship got to it was Lorien...and that is over 100 miles away...Should have been Rohan and Gondor next. It's gonna take long enough to get through the story without deviating to parts of middle earth that have no involvement in the war of the ring

Apparently Turbine got the rights to the Hobbit and some other stuff to do with it that I don't have a clue about, which might explain it. Surprised the Lore Monkeys have not had a fit over it if that is the case.

Thats because most of it was done before the game came out. Evendim for example.

Not entirely sure what is coming with this expansion. It doesn't look like much so far, but we'll see.

Its been surprisingly good so far, just a shame you have to go through Moria and Lothlorien to get there, which are kinda boring once you get to 21st hall.

LOTRO is on a bit of a downturn at the moment. I've not played since before Christmas and I hear the server we are on has gone a little quiet too.

There are a number of problems, mainly the shift of focus onto grinding. Mainly the end of game radiance gating, but they have revamped lonelands where you are more encouraged to grind rep than before. The expansion in many people's opinion didn't deliver on what was promised, although some of that is coming in the next update.

I've just kinda lost interest in it tbh. Ela posted his toughts on the White Wolves forums before the expansion came out, he was pretty right on the money there too.

All that said, there are still people playing, especially in the WW kin, so if you do fancy a go, you have nothing to lose. The Mirkwood content is 99% solo, and easyish, so that wouldn't be a problem if the game was quiet.

I might still give it a go jaze mate. Still got some games laying unpacked next to the computer. Like dow2 and some others. Once I finish them I will come take a look

The next book update is out in the US monday, so it will be out in the EU soon, maybe that will get some people back in. Maybe even me. Probably not though.
