hi guys and girls i have a question i was about to been my very old windows 98 pc when i thought id try it one more time ( it died awhile ago blue screen of death) and to my amazement it very nearly booted up

when i boot it up and press the f8 key i get the safe mode menu now all the options dont work except boot in safe mode domain controllers only (which means nothing to me ) but it worked i finally got to windows and could get to all the stuff on the machine. so i downloaded regcure and ran it and it sorted over 6000 problems i then tryed to degrag it only anaylies and defraged 31% not bad

so i scanned with stopzilla no viruses i scanned with panda it removed 1 virus so i restarted feeling conferdant that it would boot up probly it didnt i get the blue screen of death but with a different error code now i have the c000021a problem i then put that in google and get the normal millon pages of fixs and solutions which tbh im out of my depth at this point, so the question is, is it easy to fix? or should i pay the 9 pence and put it on the crate

Its 98, give up! The time your spending is probably worth more than whats on it.

Looks like it has some major system file issues.

If you still have a 98 disc slap that in and run the windows setup and choose the repair option. I can't remember the process now as I haven't used 98 in over a decade.

If it still fails then I would suggest its a lost cause, reinstall the os with something a bit more modern if it the hardware can handle it or use win2k. I would also consider the harddrive it could be faulty.

Reboot, reformat, reinstall?
